Gurugram – On Monday night a milk vendor was violently attacked with a knife and stripped of ₹12,000 cash near the Sector‑7 market. The victim, identified as New Colony resident Narendra Bhadana, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby government hospital. Police in New Colony acted swiftly, locating and arresting a suspect later that same evening.

Victim’s Daily Routine

Narendra Bhadana earns his livelihood by delivering milk and collecting payments from customers in the bustling Sector‑7 market. On the night of the incident he completed his usual route, gathering ₹12,000 in cash from the day’s transactions before heading home.

The Assault

While traversing an isolated stretch of road after leaving the market, Bhadana was approached by a young man. The encounter turned brutal when the assailant brandished a knife, striking Bhadana repeatedly in the chest and abdomen. Despite trying to fend off the attacker and seize his arm, Bhadana was overpowered and the perpetrator fled with the cash‑filled bag.

Injured Victim Found on the Road

Bleeding and collapsed on the roadside, Bhadana was discovered by passers‑by who immediately alerted the authorities. Police responders arrived quickly, providing first aid and arranging transport to the government hospital where he received medical treatment.

Police Record Victim’s Statement

Investigators took a detailed statement from Bhadana at the hospital. His account supplied crucial leads, enabling officers to identify the suspect and initiate a targeted search.

Suspect Arrested the Same Night

Within hours, New Colony police located the alleged attacker, a resident of Krishna Colony known as Harpreet Singh, alias Bobby. He was taken into custody and is currently being interrogated regarding the assault and robbery.

Possible Motive Explored

While the robbery of ₹12,000 is evident, detectives are also probing whether a personal rivalry between Bhadana and the accused played a role. They are reviewing any prior disputes, connections, or grudges that could have escalated into violence.

Ongoing Investigation

The police continue to examine the crime scene, recover the stolen cash, and trace the weapon used. Further questioning of Harpreet Singh will aim to uncover whether he acted alone or as part of a larger scheme. The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected as it progresses.

"The victim’s testimony has been pivotal in rapidly narrowing down the suspect and securing an arrest," said a New Colony police spokesperson.
