Haridwar: A 60‑year‑old man lost his life while receiving medical care after his 27‑year‑old son reportedly attacked him with a wooden stick following a trivial family quarrel in the Chandi Ghat Basti area.
Family Tiff Escalates to Violence
Police reports indicate that the clash occurred on Friday evening while the father, identified as Pyare, was preparing a meal with his younger child. A disagreement erupted between Pyare and his elder son, Prakash, 27, over a domestic issue. The argument quickly turned hostile, prompting Prakash to strike his father with a stick.
Severe Head Injuries Lead to Fatal Outcome
The blow caused serious head trauma, and Pyare collapsed on the spot. He was immediately rushed to AIIMS, where doctors fought to stabilise him. Despite intensive treatment, his condition remained critical, and he died on Saturday morning.
Police Investigation Launched
Law enforcement arrived promptly, secured the scene, and initiated legal procedures. Prakash was taken into custody for questioning, and the deceased’s body was handed over to authorities for further processing. Investigators are now probing the exact circumstances surrounding the dispute and the alleged assault.
The incident has sparked concern among residents of Chandi Ghat, prompting calls for deeper scrutiny into domestic violence cases in the region.
