Gurugram: After a week‑long manhunt, Gurugram police have taken Kalyan Bainsla into custody in Dausa, Rajasthan. Bainsla had fled the scene where he allegedly rammed his car into the motorcycle of female rider Siya on Golf Course Road.

Case Registration and Initial Charges

Police filed a suo motu FIR at the Sector‑56 police station, initially invoking Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligent driving.

Video Evidence Leads to Harsher Accusation

A meticulous frame‑by‑frame analysis of the Instagram‑circulated video revealed that the driver intentionally steered his vehicle toward Siya’s bike after signalling her to stop. Based on this, investigators added Section 109 of the BNS—pertaining to attempted murder—to the charge sheet.

Manhunt and Arrest

Following the September 13 incident, three special teams were deployed to locate Bainsla. Their coordinated effort culminated in his arrest in Dausa, where he is now being interrogated.

Details of the Collision

According to Siya, she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 alongside a group of bikers when the car driver first signalled her to halt. When she did not comply, he allegedly accelerated and forced his car into her motorcycle.

Section 109 of the BNS carries a maximum imprisonment term of ten years. Authorities will continue to scrutinise the video and other evidence to reconstruct the full sequence of events.
